Gladys and the Holidays

Gladys loves the holidays. She enjoys it almost as much as Hallmark's "Maxine." However, we think Gladys has a lot more compassion than Max.

Stamp woman (eat cake graphics) with chestnut Chalk-a-lots! Ink on brown paper bag. Clear emboss her, watercolor, ink, and cut out. Attach ARTchix Studio 05 Collage image to black card. Attach Jolee Trick or Treat bag to stamped woman. Use foam tape to mount woman and bag to card. Stamp sentiment (ViaLasVegas!)with white ink. Attach three star eyelets. Attach “FOSSIL” clothing label with foam tape. On this one - I have to show you the inside greeting.

Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree . . . . . Once a long time ago, Gladys was a little girl who wrote a letter to Santa Claus. Yes, she was a skeptic at a young age, but I am sure this does not surprise any of us when we gaze upon her face. That face did not just happen over night! And no that face did not launch a thousand ships. Santa wrote back, "Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus." Do you hear the tires screeching..... what is this "Yes, Virginia" stuff - her name is Gladys. No wonder she started a life of scepticism.

Cut maroon, navy, and blue snow netting papers to various sizes and collage to white card. Stamp sentiment (Penny Black) on vellum with red ink and emboss. Stamp girl (Stampers Anonymous) with chestnut ink pad, emboss, watercolor, chalk, and cut out. Stamp woman (eat cake graphics) three times on various papers. “Dress” her and watercolor/chalk image. Stamp wreath and tree lights (both Stampin’ Up) twice. Emboss, chalk, and use Scribbles 3D paints to decorate both images. Cut out and attach both to girl and woman. Attach “Yes, Virginia” to card with brads. Adhere girl with adhesive to card. Attach Sonnets Wire Expressions “believe.” Use foam tape to adhere woman. Stamp “. . .whatever” and place in silver book plate and attach to card with brads. Attach miniature tree lights to card.

On the inside of this card I used another stamp that I love and mickey mouse ears was used in the first card I ever submitted for publication and which was printed in Take Ten. I will show that to you one of these days, sweeties..... Headed out to go play tennis! Enjoy the evening.
