Quelle nouvelle c'est que ca?

We will translate a little later my Frenchy Honeysuckles. Check out "the mouse writer," Huxley. He jumped into my bag today while I was at Starbucks drinking way too many calories. Yes, Quelle nourvell c'est...

Oh my, oh my.... the rolls of fat are rolling, rolling, rolling,

Oh man, oh man, yes, I talked to trainer James and am headed to his place after work tomorrow for some "cardio" time....... Now, don't get excited, I am not getting carried away but need to get back into my schedule...... you know, I hate cardio but WOW, the weight shifters have made their way into my condo and they are rolling the fat around and they have to be stopped. They are worse than bed bugs. YIKES, weight shifters come in the middle of the night and whoosh - another 1/2 pound appears right there. Crummies. Oh my oh my C A r d i o O......

So in honor of the rolls of fat, I created a page in my Gratitude Journal (nope did not use my Trader Joe's bag - later),

Have not worked in it for a while. The last page I did was called "Carnival".....

Today's creation takes items on my desk here and ended up in a grab and slap...... and titled it, "What fresh hell" ..... Just begin with one blank page,

Add paint and embossing powder....

Add stuff from the former India Pages and Mexico Pages, and anything else hanging out on the desk,

A nun is always good to add into the mix, you know why not.....

Skeletons are always fun, some words stamped on old music,

And, after all is said and done today, my little honeysuckle breezers, we can't forget that Harley may or may not accept Huxley but it won't be for Huxley not trying,

And the translation, try the google translator from French to English *wink* *wink* Hope your weekend was restful, tomorrow will begin a busy week for me, two doctor's appointment and at least one cardio workout. I will try to post, really I will. Hugs, kids!

Travel Journey Visited!

For your viewing pleasure this evening in the Honeysuckle Breeze, we have pulled out our trusty travel journal and added the Boston/Salem pages. It has been a hot and steamy day in the Washington, DC, area - as it has been in most places east of the Mississippi. I did manage to get through cardio tennis this morning for one hour. It was sweaty just standing around waiting to run onto the court. WOW. Hot, steamy, muggy and just down right hot. Larcy and I did some running around. She left Oliver pup at home since it was just too hot to take him with us.

When I returned home I decided I had to get the travel journal out. Started with my blank pages. Above is the left hand side after I added Black Gesso to the page to "muddy" and distress it. And then the finished page....

In Salem I "negotiated" with a shop owner for a used box of Tarot cards which I knew I wanted to use in art work. He was a little thrown off by my wanting a "used" and old set - but I explained I would not have to do that much distressing to them. That was fun.....

And now, my little kiddies, lets wander off to the right side I titled, "She only flies after dark . . when moon light falls...."

OK, I admit it -- I did get carried away with this side..... yes, I did....

One of my fav nuns and a rub-on of a dandelion! Why not.... The finished product for both layouts:

I have to admit something to you. If this post seems a little "quick" and to "the point" - it is .... I am upstairs and although the sun has gone down - It still gets mighty warm up here with the southwest exposure and sometimes, especially during the day, I don't like to come up here but can't really move this room downstairs to the living room where it is deliciously cool and nice TV... BUtttttt - OK, here I go off again..... I have to show you all the Swan Boat Harley, Betsy, and I rode on one lovely day in Boston. Is it not beautiful????

Harley fell in love....

Yes, Harley is just a little harley-about-town.... just a roust-about......

We can't forget my "odd hotel" Very odd

The Boston Park Plaza Hotel & Towers.... Room 935. Dead phone, crazy coffee maker, air conditioner (don't get me started)....... just down right odd. I swear there was something weird and eerie about the whole 9th floor. Trust me. Yes, I will have to do my own investigation online to see if there are any lurking stories out there on this hotel! Yes, I will.

Don't get me wrong - a fun time was had by all in a lovely city.....

Nighty, night boys and girls. Stay tuned tomorrow for a give away -- a book I bought BUT am not into zentangles...... OH NO, they tangle my brain and in my world, there is no zen in a zentangle! LOL

It is a Wonderful Life Among the Honeysuckles

Yup, 13 days and counting, been working straight through since last week and Harley and me are back home! The meeting went well, the golf tournament fun, although HOT and MUGGY, but we had fun.

Now, for those who don't know, I live in the Washington, DC, area in Northern Virginia. We got hot, muggy, traffic, and beautiful country here. Harley went with me and assisted in working our national meeting and, let me tell you, he worked his little red paws off. You can see all the traffic behind Harley - a beautiful view from our hotel room on the 17th floor in Crystal City....

Off to golfing.....

Harley - to his amazement found the KING......

And some golf clubs - hmmmmmm, wonder what he is doing on those golf clubs?

OK, I am taking the keyboard back from Harley, the little tramp..... I did get a page done in the travel journal. That was fun working on it in the hotel room as we rested our sore little feet after being on them all day. Here is the final page:

Sorry - I did not get a photo of the blank page before I started, I just started stamping, cutting, and gluing.... and adding to it each night......

The stamp of the woman with umbrella is from Mary Mata's Clear Art Stamps called "A Walk in Paris." I took my pencil and added a little shadow around her feet and then took the pencil to outline the angel. Speaking of the angel, it is from a set of greeting cards called "In the Garden" featuring photography by Christine Triebert.

Bits of paper here and there - I really love collaging....... I really do. NOW, last night, Harley and I had my Nephew Pup Oliver show up for Oliver's vacation while his mummy and daddy went on a cruise. This is Oliver's home away from home and he showed up in his usual whirwind style and will be here for 10 days!

Oliver's middle name is "trouble"!!! SO, Oliver shows up and then an incredible Dream Angel shows up at my door.

This beautiful work of art was a thank you gift from the wonderful artist Marilyn Rock. I was so overwhelmed by her generosity. She is a wonderful friend I met here in a blog community and we will always be tied together by a stamp set named "Nellie"........ only in blog land could we say that! LOL. Click on the link in the previous sentence and you will see Marilyn's post of her Nellie story..... In my blog I featured Nellie here. Dream Angel now has a special place in my nest...... with another angel that I made years and years ago in the middle 90s...

I am starting to ramble, and yes, I'm tired and so is Oliver....

Looking forward to starting to post more regularly - I've missed my blog peeps. Love and hugs!

Carnival in the Honeysuckles

Happy, Happy Friday, boys and girls. It rained last night and my allergies are so happy, even the suckles are singing in the BREEZE and it is windy and colder but I am not complaining! We had 90 on Wednesday which is way too warm for this time of year and down to 30 tonight.

I have been working on a two pages in my Gratitude Journal. Many of you know that I did this journal last May for 30 days. I had to write at least 5 things I was grateful for that day and do it every day. Since May 09 I have gone back and created art on journaled and non-journaled pages. As I told you a while back, I have received wonderful gifts from my blogger friends and decided to use this opportunity to use those items. I'm trying not to hoard my loot.

From Debby at The Gathering Nest bunches of FUN! You saw her art work the other day. Love these images and had fun cutting them out.

From Elizabeth and Bleubeard some wonderful treated Deli paper. Stunning.

I spent evenings this week cutting out images and playing with a layout. I selected the "Fall Colors" - I always lean that way..... but this paper had a lovely purple mixed in. The page is much more shimmering and stunning than this photo shows.

Playing with a layout. Loved the images Debby sent from my dear Itkupilli.

Got serious and found two silk fall leaves and glued those babies down after I sewed on a maroon ribbon..... You can see the shimmers a little here....

Here are some closeups:
