All Good Things Must Come to an End

We will all have our last dance at some point. When is not up to us. Gladys has always remembered to live one day at a time at its fullest. Yes, she has always been willing to dance like no one else. She never gave a flying flip who watched! You go girl....

Select card ((Beyond Postmark by K & Co.). Trace onto decorative paper (Club Scrap), cut down, and attach to card. Attach a cloud design vellum paper cut to size. Cut left side with Creative Memories decorative scissors. Distress vellum with Heliotrope Color Box stamp pad and attach to card. Select a photo image of Fred & Ginger from the book, Grand Illusions. Reduce on a copier and copy onto a transparency. Selectively highlight back of transparency with inks and pencils. Attach three silver leaves (Decorative Accents). Stamp sentiment (Dawn Houser/Inkadinkado) to vellum using black Memories stamp pad. Stamp woman (eat cake graphics) several times on different papers. Cut out clothes and attach to main image. Watercolor her face, socks, shoes, and purse. Attach black feathers to her skirt, jacket, and back of neck. Add a silver ribbon as her belt and finish off with a pearl strand of ribbon. Affix a Jolee’s mask (Italy Dimensional Stickers). Add rhinestones to mask and dress. Finish decorating with Stickles silver glitter glue. Hole punch (1/4” circle) black letters from Tim Holtz distressables “typewriter” card, affix, and Diamond Glaze.

The sentiment stamped inside says, "Dance as if no one were watching, sing as if no one were listening, and live each day as if it were your last." Let's all remember that one.

And then we have her final journey. Yup, she got reincarnated as a mermaid..... do tell, God help those little fishees and those non-suspecting sailors! Oh boy, this girl knows how to live both in this life and the next:

Cut vellum map to card size. Pen the backside with various colors. Distress gray card with Holtz Weathered Wood ink pad. Affix map to card. Distress vellum once it is affixed to card. Print Dover “Old-time Travel Poster” (CD clip art) Normandie cruise ship onto glossy photo paper. Trim and attach with mono adhesive. Attach bon voyage eyelet. Stamp “Believe” (Anna Griffin) on twill tape. Cut and attach red eyelet in one end and tape to card.

Take a starfish and apply Diamond Glaze to top, sprinkle “seashore” beads, and Diamond Glaze to card. Stamp woman (eat cake graphics) and cut off her head. Stamp the “Mermaid Fairy” (Cats Life Press) and affix woman’s head to mermaid body. Color with pens, watercolor, and a variety of Luminarte colors. Let dry. Seal with Diamond Glaze and affix to card with foam tape. Select a sentiment from “Nostalgiques” (The Attic Collection) and affix to card. Cut out “Journey” from K & Company logo sheet and glue to card. Hole punch (1/4 “ circle) letters from Tim Holtz distressables “Typewriter” card and affix to card. Diamond Glaze typewriter letters.

I hope you have enjoyed our trip this week down memory lane. Gladys gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling. You know, sometimes I think the hokey pokey is what it is all about. And why not? Went to a noon-time showing of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince! A review later. I love the Harry novels and am sorry the story has ended. And, yes, I played tennis tonight....

At my age, you keep running and chasing balls while you can! *wink*

OK - keep on truckin'.....

"Dance for yourself, if someone understands good. If not, then no matter, go right on doing what you love." -- In honor of Gladys!
