Quick Update

Wanted to update you all on my current status. No news yet. Is the waiting to hear hard? Not when you keep yourself busy! Remember that because you don't have time to dwell on it. I'm puppy-sitting Oliver and when he is not napping- no rest for the weary. LOL. Tonight he and I will be feasting on slow cooked Pot Roast.

Yesterday I painted my front door, went grocery shopping, stopped at cleaners and then it was time for Mr. Oliver. He got a new toy and took it to bed last night. Today we are hanging out. You all enjoy the rest of your Sunday. Hugs to all. When I hear any news I will let you know.

Waiting in the Breeze

I should probably begin this post with my Note from The Universe today.  How appropriate, wouldn't you say?

Be led by joy, Marlynn

It's the whole point.

Tallyho,

  The Universe

PS, Remember Marlynn, before this entire adventure began, you once asked me to remind you of this? You asked that I time it right before the floodgates opened, so that you could stay grounded. You were studying at the prestigious Bent Light University.. in the Ph.D. program... on a Hula Hoop scholarship. "Go Illuminators!"

I think this is appropriate for today since I am still waiting for the results of the  biopsies.  You know, waiting is almost Zen like when you think of it. You just have to get into the moment, the flow, the dance and mesh in the here and now after twirling with your hula hoop. You cannot angst over things like this because it will throw your serenity into a tail spin.

Yes, my tail is usually spinning enough, my peeps. Between working, tennis, workouts, boxing, and creating, I really don't have much time to get into the "angst-mode". Really, not good for you emotionally, spiritually, or physically. So if you learn anything from my travels and journeys - learn this:  live in the moment, be thankful for what you have, don't moan, groan, or whine.  Say a prayer each day and make sure you thank you!

All that being said, I have been creating some pages in the "Lost Chord" book.  The one above is using a clip art from Retro Cafe. She is a beauty, isn't she and so perfect for our upcoming Easter Celebrations. The background is from an old book, "The Lives of Saints" I picked up somewhere. Seemed it worked well.

So if you learn anything from my travels and journeys - learn this:  live in the moment, be thankful for what you have, don't moan, groan, or whine.  Say a prayer each day and make sure you say thank you!  And whatever you do, don't let the train leave the station without you.

Day is Almost Done

Just to let you know the day went OK. Felt long in the morning waiting for the Stereotactic biopsy to begin and then found out we would do two areas. What did that mean? Takes twice as long as one area. LOL.

I believe it was harder to lay still in an uncomfortable position but not so uncomfortable as to make it unbearable. Mostly I just zoned out like I do in my workouts off and on. Harley and Larcy took good care of me. Lunch was fantastic.

Going to call it an early evening and watch mindless TV. Thinking it was a good idea to take the day off. Will head into work tomorrow. Thank you for your comments and private notes yesterday and today. New day tomorrow. *smile* I hear peach pie calling me! Hugs peeps!

March 10, 2011, Cancer Graduation Day

March 10, 2011, had the last radiation session for breast cancer.

Whew - made it through 3 surgeries and 18 rounds of radiation.

Harley rocked it all the way with me.

It has been two years since my "cancer birthday" - January 9, 2011.

Tomorrow, March 18, will have to have another biopsy.

Hmmm, am I concerned? Not sure. Why? My two fav doctors are disagreeing on the need for this biopsy.  The oncologist - says "yes" it has to be done to make sure there is nothing there. Surgeon says "no" - it is not a concern although outside the lumpectomy site - tissue was taken else where during the last surgery and this is just scar tissue.  Either way, will have the biopsy tomorrow and then will find out in four to five days the results. Guess it is better to be safe than sorry and also complicating this is the blood thinner I am on and the regime I go through to prepare for stuff like this. And that brings us to "how to prepare for a biopsy 101"

Harley is ready to roll,

As is Larcy (driver and nurse maid tomorrow),

Cupcakes,

Trash rag,

Kindle,

X rays.

Oh, yeah, you didn't see the peach pie.  And you know, I wondered why I put on weight 2 years ago. Couldn't be what I put into my mouth could it?  Won't be able to workout, box, or play tennis next week - hmmmm, guess I will have to watch what I eat.  Anyway, will be back with you soon and let you know how the journey goes tomorrow.  Enjoy your paddy day.

I had the best corned beef and hash yesterday which was yummy!  And got some of my Lost Chord pages worked on yesterday.  Loving this little book!

Hugs!

Snowing in the Breeze

An unusual snow day. We have had only 2" of snow this season. Today, March 6, we are suppose to hit the jackpot. This morning I didn't believe it as snow cat sat waiting on the patio. And the the snow gods smiled and chuckled loudly. The skies opened! Will keep posting as the day goes on. I'm thinking no boxing tonight! LOL

The Lost Chord

YES, I did disappear for one month. The month of February.  I signed up for a venture called "Be Your Own Beloved" and we took photos on various prompts every single day in February.  AND, I did it. The whole 28 days I took them photos. I am the one who will sign up for a class and then not show up. But this one was different. Really different.  This one was on day 16 of the 28:

A Part of the Whole

In my world, crazy hair, slouchy clothes on a day off - and photo all dressed up in sepia!

I love my part of the whole in my nest.

Some prompts were easy and some not so.  I will share with you some of these throughout the month. Today I was creating in the journal, "The Lost Chord" -- you saw the beginning of  it last year:

Worked on two pages today - The first page is still a work in progress - called dance.  This book is becoming a story of the "lost" children in the world that run away to never never land or wonderland.  Playing with silhouettes thorough the journal.  Cutting out the clip art and then coloring in black!  Every child's secret passion! And of course had to use the "doll heads" - love my doll heads.

The second page worked on today was started with an article in my stash of clip art concerning vampires:

New England always seem to have its share of vampires starting with one of my all time favorites, Barnabas Collins! Dark Shadows was my obsession in the late 60s-70s.

So no telling where this pages will lead but will work on some more tomorrow.  Last week went to a crop and worked on the Paris Photo Sleeve Album.  Had fun with the girls.  Here are two of the photos I managed to get laid out:

And of course - the Tower:

Take care and enjoy the rest of your weekend!
