The PaperWhimsy 2009 Quotes Challenge

I joined the Paper Whimsy Forum because I fell in love with the 2009 Quotes Challenge. This is "a magical journey with child poet Hilda Conkling in words & pictures." I came into one it challenge late but decided to post my creation for the March 1 Poem, Moss, and then do the February one in a few minutes (like I can create it in a few minutes!!).

For the challenge you have to use certain images each time and you have a choice of using the free limited edition PaperWhimsy collage sheets or not. However, you must use at least one PaperWhimsy image that you have purchased.

Moss -- Green velvet to look upon. . . .
"Velvet rugs for the footsteps of the wind"
"I have heard the wind pass and return." These are some of my favorite phrases in the poem. (another reason I am doing this challenge is I want to work on my own poetry written in my twenties and thirties into a spread-book like this.)

I experimented by printing the images and then reprinting on a dictionary page from an old book. I loved the look and used it as part of my background on the right side. I also used one of my favorite Angela Cartwright Transparency Sheets available at Stamington & Company. I love this angel and now have to go and purchase more of the "Stone Portals Trans 3."

You can also see the PaperWhimsy image I used. I combined two - the young girl and the butterfly wings. I am waiting on other images to be sent to me in the mail and so I used a down loadable image sheet I purchased. Her products are so unbelievable beautiful.

For the "bird" - I used the image on the collage sheet and printed it three times - one time onto a dictionary page. All in all, this was a very satisfying project for me to work on. Hope you enjoy it.

I now need to run out to Starbucks real quick before I start on "February" which is "blue" and all about a little "stone door in my mind." No comments from friends. Yes, I know my brain can be a little rock sometimes. Love you all too, as always. Honeysuckle Breeze signing off for now.

Fun reading more about your lovely Moss pages M! So many wonderful details! The great thing about the PW poetry challenge is that you can work at your own speed. Another one is coming out on the 15th.
So glad you joined the Forum :)
