Frost on the Pumpkins in the Breeze

OH my, I was just not so ready for the frost on the windows of the "shark" this morning. OK, the good news: Sun was up; bad news: had to put on gloves; good news: the Sebring Shark really heats up so FAST (not like my lovable VW beetle - yes I still miss the little Lady Bug but not in the winter time) and it took no time at all.

For those of you who think I might have crossed over to the dark side and am now into Xmas skipping over Thanksgiving - do not fear, boys and girls. Thanksgiving is my next bestest holiday after Halloween. I so love the colors, really do. I am now working on recipe cards for my upcoming Craft Chix weekend swap in less than two weeks. Guess you know what I will be doing this weekend!

I love these "chef" gals which I found over at The Vintage Workshop. The image is called "cooking school." I will use the gals on the front of the recipe card below the placement of the recipe. I'm using a recipe I found online called Slow Cooker Pumpkin Soup. I really love my slow cooker especially in the winter with all of the stews and soups!

I worked on the "back" of the recipe card by creating an image I will copy and then attach to the back. That was fun working on .... and I tore pages out of old cooking books I find on ebay. (my dear cousin is grimacing about now... I don't think she likes me tearing books up - its for art, sweetie, for arts sake.....) Nope that won't satisfy her.

Hope your Wednesday was a good one. I really do kind of like this middle of the hump day. AND, no, I have not forgotten my dear "Neglected Murderess" Ms. November known as Miss Rosebeetle! (I love you Edward Gorey where ever you are on the other side...) I will probably play with it tonight while watching America's Next Top Model. I'm sure there is no connection here, I think... "neglected" hmm "top model" hmmmm "neglected" ..... Tyra Banks ... hmmmm

Honeysuckle Breeze November Days......

I just can't believe we are already into November. Did I remember to set my clocks backward last night? Nope, by the time I got home from the wonderful Halloween Party I started watching what remained of Ghost Hunters still going on and it didn't really matter since I was setting no alarm clock! First time in 12 days.

I did manage to get the Xmas Ornaments done for the swap. You will see that I decided to sew a button on the ribbon and then using Tacky Glue just slapped that baby to the back of the ornament (and yes, almost glued my finger to it).

Now we are focusing on the recipe cards. Almost there. Today is rainy and I am headed to a musical play this afternoon but can still get some work done before I head out.

So in closing...... a photo from my blackberry right after I put on the glorious eyelashes..... REMEMBER, the eyes have it.... OK, you can rest easy, the eyelashes are now packed in the Halloween stuff waiting to come back out next year.

Happy Hallows Eve from the Breeze

I created this ATC just for you my little ghouls and ghoulies. Happy Halloween. I'm headed for a party tonight, have the DVR set for the SyFy Channel formally known as SciFi.... I can't miss my Ghost Hunter Boys (Jason, Grant, Steve, and Tango).... This ATC is known as "Nevermore" -- (OK, I got excited a few hours ago when I took the trash out and FOUND one more rusty paper clip. Had to use on Mr. Poe)

I love the Halloween Dolls from Digital Collage Sheets....... too spooky! Thanks, Patty for leading me that way. I so loved your creation!

We all need a piano in at least one of our lives

All things dark and beautiful in the Breeze

Today the madness began in the early morning hour when the due was on the roses. The ghouls and gals showed up for work - OH no..... and yes, luckily the dress still fit! WooooHooooo ..
Be afraid, Boys and Girls, be really afraid. Oh yeah, did I tell you Popeye's Chicken really loved the Ghoul and Me when we floated in for 16 pieces of chicken?

Enjoy the shows on TV the next two nights! Spooky thrills are headed your way....

More for me than you! LOL

I just have to post what I did last night to the ornaments. You note "to the" little round circles. They are becoming the bane of my existence at the moment. Moved the sewing machine downstairs to dining room table. Knew it would be stressful and needed the comforts of the downstairs, recliners, kitchen, cheese, etc. Got the little buggers sewed into "circles" - please note "circles" is a relative term in my sewing world.

Got them stuffed and seven of them whipped stitched together. Kept the first one for myself, it was a pretty poor example of an ornament and had to sew it twice. OH NO, forgot to leave the opening to pull it from outside to inside. AND, now, on my check-list, go to Michaels and buy little ornaments made by Taiwanese ladies to give with mine. Is this a defeatist attitude. Maybe. But I feel better already!

Thinking of attaching the hook with a button to the back - we will see later this weekend if this will work. Playing tennis the next two nights!

Raindrops in the Honeysuckles

My tree caught my eye as I wandered out early to work this morning. The time: 7:15 am. This is what I saw, "raindrops" and what I thought, "keep falling on my head." The lights still on and the raindrops glistening. So I just couldn't resist.

This is a quick progress report on the ornament swap which I am obsessing about. Yesterday, after working out with the monster James, I hurried home, showered, fixed dinner, ate, and began finishing up the final two ornaments. I then ransacked a closet to find backing material. Cut cross-stitched ornaments and backing into circles. All of it is now waiting to be sewn together. So for tonight the goal is to get all 14 sewn and ready for stuffing the batting into each one. I also I have to find some ribbon that will work as the "hangers." I am bound and determined not to have to go out and buy anything for this. I have plenty of stuff to finish these with - the problem is "convincing me" to go look for it instead of heading to JoAnn's to buy it quickly. LOL.

As I said above, all the little squares are now little circles. Will report what I get done tomorrow.... Just remember to stay dry and dodge the raindrops!
