Waiting in the Breeze

I should probably begin this post with my Note from The Universe today.  How appropriate, wouldn't you say?

Be led by joy, Marlynn

It's the whole point.

Tallyho,

  The Universe

PS, Remember Marlynn, before this entire adventure began, you once asked me to remind you of this? You asked that I time it right before the floodgates opened, so that you could stay grounded. You were studying at the prestigious Bent Light University.. in the Ph.D. program... on a Hula Hoop scholarship. "Go Illuminators!"

I think this is appropriate for today since I am still waiting for the results of the  biopsies.  You know, waiting is almost Zen like when you think of it. You just have to get into the moment, the flow, the dance and mesh in the here and now after twirling with your hula hoop. You cannot angst over things like this because it will throw your serenity into a tail spin.

Yes, my tail is usually spinning enough, my peeps. Between working, tennis, workouts, boxing, and creating, I really don't have much time to get into the "angst-mode". Really, not good for you emotionally, spiritually, or physically. So if you learn anything from my travels and journeys - learn this:  live in the moment, be thankful for what you have, don't moan, groan, or whine.  Say a prayer each day and make sure you thank you!

All that being said, I have been creating some pages in the "Lost Chord" book.  The one above is using a clip art from Retro Cafe. She is a beauty, isn't she and so perfect for our upcoming Easter Celebrations. The background is from an old book, "The Lives of Saints" I picked up somewhere. Seemed it worked well.

So if you learn anything from my travels and journeys - learn this:  live in the moment, be thankful for what you have, don't moan, groan, or whine.  Say a prayer each day and make sure you say thank you!  And whatever you do, don't let the train leave the station without you.

Day is Almost Done

Just to let you know the day went OK. Felt long in the morning waiting for the Stereotactic biopsy to begin and then found out we would do two areas. What did that mean? Takes twice as long as one area. LOL.

I believe it was harder to lay still in an uncomfortable position but not so uncomfortable as to make it unbearable. Mostly I just zoned out like I do in my workouts off and on. Harley and Larcy took good care of me. Lunch was fantastic.

Going to call it an early evening and watch mindless TV. Thinking it was a good idea to take the day off. Will head into work tomorrow. Thank you for your comments and private notes yesterday and today. New day tomorrow. *smile* I hear peach pie calling me! Hugs peeps!

March 10, 2011, Cancer Graduation Day

March 10, 2011, had the last radiation session for breast cancer.

Whew - made it through 3 surgeries and 18 rounds of radiation.

Harley rocked it all the way with me.

It has been two years since my "cancer birthday" - January 9, 2011.

Tomorrow, March 18, will have to have another biopsy.

Hmmm, am I concerned? Not sure. Why? My two fav doctors are disagreeing on the need for this biopsy.  The oncologist - says "yes" it has to be done to make sure there is nothing there. Surgeon says "no" - it is not a concern although outside the lumpectomy site - tissue was taken else where during the last surgery and this is just scar tissue.  Either way, will have the biopsy tomorrow and then will find out in four to five days the results. Guess it is better to be safe than sorry and also complicating this is the blood thinner I am on and the regime I go through to prepare for stuff like this. And that brings us to "how to prepare for a biopsy 101"

Harley is ready to roll,

As is Larcy (driver and nurse maid tomorrow),

Cupcakes,

Trash rag,

Kindle,

X rays.

Oh, yeah, you didn't see the peach pie.  And you know, I wondered why I put on weight 2 years ago. Couldn't be what I put into my mouth could it?  Won't be able to workout, box, or play tennis next week - hmmmm, guess I will have to watch what I eat.  Anyway, will be back with you soon and let you know how the journey goes tomorrow.  Enjoy your paddy day.

I had the best corned beef and hash yesterday which was yummy!  And got some of my Lost Chord pages worked on yesterday.  Loving this little book!

Hugs!

We are Walking Hope

Yes, we are walking hope and there are many of us out there.

"Our stories arise from our
hearts and our souls.
In this sense,
telling our stories
becomes a sacred
gesture,
opening a clear way to
that deep, ecstatic center
where we are most
uniquely ourselves,
individual and unique
yet joined together at the
heart."
Susan Wittig Albert

Not the post I was going to write but then, today, I discovered a small journal from last year and decided that I just needed to honor October 8, 2010, the day the doctor called to say I had breast cancer. That day will always be with me as will my "cancer birthday" - the day it was all taken out:  January 12, 2012. Another push to write this post was my email from Wylde Women's Wisdom - and yes, it was the quote above. I do listen to the universe when it sends me messages. LOL.....

Do you know that they are on the verge of developing a vaccine for breast cancer. Yes, a vaccination you can get to protect you against this disease. WoW -- within 5 years. Please, when asked, donate to breast cancer research. Just saying - there can be a world without this disease. WoooHooo. OK, the next post will be the post I meant to post today...... a little redundant but what the heck. A peek:

Think Pink - October Is .....

"The simple act of telling
someone that you care,
why you care,
why they too might care,

can cause mountains to
move

We should never be
afraid to simply speak of
what we love,
from the place in us
which has loved.

It can make a difference."
Renee Askins
(Wylde Women's Wisdom)

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and, as many of you know I am compelled to ask everyone to honor this month and remember the importance of early detection. As you know, one year ago I was diagnosed with breast cancer, stage one, and went through 18 rounds of radiation. By the Grace of God and you, my friends, and my loving family, I came through this journey a stronger person.

Two weeks ago I had my first mammogram after the surgeries and radiation, and I am pleased to say, Me and the Girls passed with flying colors. Now I have to admit this..... OK, it is just my odd attitude about some stuff.  My thoughts when walking into the Fairfax Radiology Clinic was, will my left boobie be so sensitive I am like gonna just grit my teeth and try to bear the "pain" - dramatic - you betcha, but that's me. Was I even thinking the test might come back with problems. Nope, just thinking about my crunched boobie and me..... I told someone that and they said, You gotta be kidding, that was all you were thinking about and not stressing about the outcome.  NOPE. I think this is a lesson in life. . .

I owe all of you a lot and I hope I can repay you and the Universe. One way, is to help others who are beginning this journey. Which is what exactly a specific number of you did with me. And I have been able to do that. But I want to urge you to beware that this cancer now is very treatable and curable and is not a death sentence. You can dance your way through it with a song in your heart and early detection.

Is this Pollyanna - oh why the hell not? It beats the other side of the coin. Was I always my own Pollyanna - hell no. I had the dark thoughts, the dark days, and the "I just wanna kick something."  That was normal. But with my trusty Harley who went to all 18 radiology sessions with me and is now a little worn with love, we got through this phase of our life-journey.

And in closing this blog post, I wish that all of you, hang in there. Trust your God and your Angels (I also add my Jesus to these other two) and your life-walk will be easier no matter what that journey will entail. Oh, shucks, just dance with style!

Graduation Day - The Last Radiation Blast

You joined us on our journey,

You laughed, cried, and prayed with us,

The last day finally came today - one day late - but it came. On the 18th radiation treatment who should we meet in the hall headed down to rads, but Dr. Diaz, our breast surgeon, too cute, don't you think? Harley's in love.

Down the hall we stroll taking in the sights and sounds, remembering and honoring each of the 18 days,

Checking in and waiting,

The frickin machine - Holy Cow Harley - looks like Star Trek to me OR is it "HAL" oh my,

Harley, "Oh No - take me away it is trying to suck me up..... I'm just a liddle guy."

The view

Almost time for the last blast

The Beam? Oh no

Graduation Day
