DIY in the Breeze OMG

YIKES -- the Geisha Page, OH no, OH no...... splitting - more horrible than splitting hair ends, more heartbreaking than split nails, . . . YIKES...

After finishing the "Chucky Lives" creation in the "Off the Walls Notebook," I noticed that some of the signatures were starting to "split" apart. Not sure why, but imagine it is the way I have been creating the pages. I do not need pages to start "falling" out of the book since I cannot take this book apart and rebind. SO, today we have done a little DIY in the Honeysuckles. Got the masking tape out,

and began identifying where the problems were and then laid the tape down before I did another layout. Had to put something over this page which is the back on one of the "doll" pages:

What this meant is I had to cover all of the back of the page and it just wasn't possible to glue two pages together and cause strain on a signature. So I found a February 1997 "Shape" magazine and ripped out an ad from it t use as the background.

I love this quote on this page: Energy escapes the body in the form of shivers. Who knew. Well, guess they did, and, of course, I have never met a scary doll head I didn't like and had one left over.

YES, boys and girls, I was using left over items on my table. To me this just screams, KISS ME, sucker. OK, never mind, we won't go there. Just pucker up.

Don't have a clue where I picked up the "regression" card - but love it: "A depression is sometimes called a regression." Hmmm, I never called depression a recession but I know some recessions that cause depression. Duh..... And then I went to the mall. There is no correlation between the mall and depression or recession. I am HELPING the recession. Found this little lovely from Brighton

on sale at 30% off:

It is called the Brighton Tiki Tile Wheeled Weekender. OK, I going for a little bit longer than a weekend to Boston this week to meet up with my good friends Ron and Betsy who live in Oklahoma City. Betsy and I have been BFFs since the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, -

you get the idea.... here we were at the Louvre..... (oh yea, Harley was there too....)

I will be hanging out with her while hubby attends a convention and then on Saturday we will all head to Salem.

Oh yes. Love witches. Have a good eve! Cackle, Cackle, Cackle.....

The Doll House in the Honeysuckles

Seems like forever since I posted. The week sped by very quickly. If you remember I was teasing you with the "dolls" and I did get their wall page done.....

And, team tennis was fun on Wednesday evening and then the week was gone. Oliver went home at noon time today. He was so happy to see his daddy.... Right after this photo was taken we went out to eat lunch. Let's just say he is one happy pup. This morning we had glorious rain - we so needed it and I was able o work on the "doll house" or "chucky lives" - Ahhhh, this was one fun page to work on.....

The before:

Yup, I started by cutting out some bricks and then putting the doll heads behind the page and started building that way. I bought the Kokopelli in a bunch of stuff at my last CraftChix outing. I knew I would find just the right place to use him.

Used one of my "found" parking lot metal items on the page:

Added some metal letters and another rusty item of mine placed around the doll's eye....

I really have to admit how much I love these doll's heads. If you are so inclined, you can find them over at Digital Collage.
The bird coming out of the window was a last minute image added when I saw it on some Alpha Stamps collage sheet I purchased recently. I couldn't pass it up..... Well, I do need to make a cup of coffee and then visit my buds at their blogs. You have a great rest of the day!

Just Teasing in the Breeze!

6:00 PM Tuesday -- 100 degrees which is a drop of 4 degrees from 1:00 PM. Tomorrow is suppose to be HOTTER and, guess what, I play team tennis tomorrow evening. And so tonight boys and girls - we have a tease, yup, and it is not what Oliver has chewed up.....

Do you think he is missing his mummy and daddy or just downright bored in the Honeysuckle Breeze? Any guess is welcome cause he's not talking! We had debates last night on which side of the bed was his - and which was mine - he won, as I yawn!

I may or may not be back on the blog tomorrow so let's start out with the "Before" in the Walls Notebook.......

And the "Tease" --

Hmmm, does anyone think of the Chucky movies........ the Seed of Chucky, Chucky vs Leprechaun, hmmmm, yes, it is just a tease. We will see where it goes from here. Happy Dreams.

Summertime and the livin' is easy..... hot and humid

Only one way to spend a hot and humid summer day...... Oliver style! Inside air conditioning and napping....
Makes you wonder - when did two toys become better than one? Last night, nephew-pup Oliver went a visiting next door to the neighbors for a little steak, a little shrimp, a little potato salad, cupcakes, baked beans, - all of that was for me, Oliver did not eat the shrimp!

I did get one item done yesterday besides working on the Off the Walls notebook, I managed to put together an Acrylic Organizer Stamp Album I had picked up a few weeks ago.

Right now some of the cling mounted stamps have been hanging from my "clip-it-up" and that is OK for some but that clip it up is so full and I have no room for another one that I needed to transfer some stamps....

Got out my trusted Zutter (love it)

And got started putting the book together. Grabbed the stamps and clung away.... almost too thick to close, oh my!

and now TODAY, July 5, I have been doing some work from the my office and took a break and decided the "stamp" organizer needed some help and I needed to make some "pockets" to put the descriptive images of the stamps in..... Had some paper I have been "hoarding" and, what the heck, I cut it up.... oh no.... put it on the "non-stick" divider page....

Cut the paper into an 8"x71/2" piece and xyroned it... On the other side of the divider I used left over paper and made a pocket... The "girls" paper was double-sided and so you can see the blue design through the clear divider....

Decided to add a rub on to the front of album...
See the image by the two rub-ons? That is the BACK of the Hero stamp, I thought it worked out as a perfect "cover" for the book. Now all I have to do is finish the dividers and pockets and it will be all "decorated" my style.... See ya later! Summertime --- and the livin' is easy...... hot and humid!

Happy Birthday America! Crack, Snackle, Pop!

Oliver pup and I are still just lazing around the honeysuckles and smelling the roses. Yes, we have really lazed today. What a grand way to spend our beloved America's Birthday. Is that bliss or is that bliss. Oliver doesn't have a care in the world!

While the pup napped I finished off the second Geisha page in my Off The Walls notebook. If you remember the first page looked like this:

Notice blank wall to the left - this is what we worked on. The before:

And the after:

Added, once again, some black feathers, some rub-ons, and Asian print,

A Dapper Men Stamp (--no you are not seeing double, I restamped over the image) and black ribbon,

And the two pages together:

And while we were at it -- added a silver flower to the cover -- Absolutely love these Prima Flowers.... I just thought it might spruce up the cover a little. *wink*

Enjoy your 4th and stay safe..... I have a sleepy nappy pup that needs a long walk! ALSO, yes this is an "endorsement" - I found this at Starbucks the other day and it is delicious and wonderful with a little milk added to it.....yum yum.

Hugs!

It is a Wonderful Life Among the Honeysuckles

Yup, 13 days and counting, been working straight through since last week and Harley and me are back home! The meeting went well, the golf tournament fun, although HOT and MUGGY, but we had fun.

Now, for those who don't know, I live in the Washington, DC, area in Northern Virginia. We got hot, muggy, traffic, and beautiful country here. Harley went with me and assisted in working our national meeting and, let me tell you, he worked his little red paws off. You can see all the traffic behind Harley - a beautiful view from our hotel room on the 17th floor in Crystal City....

Off to golfing.....

Harley - to his amazement found the KING......

And some golf clubs - hmmmmmm, wonder what he is doing on those golf clubs?

OK, I am taking the keyboard back from Harley, the little tramp..... I did get a page done in the travel journal. That was fun working on it in the hotel room as we rested our sore little feet after being on them all day. Here is the final page:

Sorry - I did not get a photo of the blank page before I started, I just started stamping, cutting, and gluing.... and adding to it each night......

The stamp of the woman with umbrella is from Mary Mata's Clear Art Stamps called "A Walk in Paris." I took my pencil and added a little shadow around her feet and then took the pencil to outline the angel. Speaking of the angel, it is from a set of greeting cards called "In the Garden" featuring photography by Christine Triebert.

Bits of paper here and there - I really love collaging....... I really do. NOW, last night, Harley and I had my Nephew Pup Oliver show up for Oliver's vacation while his mummy and daddy went on a cruise. This is Oliver's home away from home and he showed up in his usual whirwind style and will be here for 10 days!

Oliver's middle name is "trouble"!!! SO, Oliver shows up and then an incredible Dream Angel shows up at my door.

This beautiful work of art was a thank you gift from the wonderful artist Marilyn Rock. I was so overwhelmed by her generosity. She is a wonderful friend I met here in a blog community and we will always be tied together by a stamp set named "Nellie"........ only in blog land could we say that! LOL. Click on the link in the previous sentence and you will see Marilyn's post of her Nellie story..... In my blog I featured Nellie here. Dream Angel now has a special place in my nest...... with another angel that I made years and years ago in the middle 90s...

I am starting to ramble, and yes, I'm tired and so is Oliver....

Looking forward to starting to post more regularly - I've missed my blog peeps. Love and hugs!
